Blundstone Australia announces support for LGBTIQ+ scholarships

Australian boot icon Blundstone is partnering with LGBTIQ+ charity The Pinnacle Foundation to support its work in providing young people with assistance to complete their studies.

Commencing this year, Blundstone Australia has committed to a three-year partnership with The Pinnacle Foundation.

This partnership provides financial support for Australian LGBTIQ+ students by providing scholarships and mentors to encourage, counsel, and inspire them during their young adulthood.

The Pinnacle Foundation awards national multi-year scholarships to LGBTIQ+ students who are between 18 and 26 years old.

The scholarships support full-time study at public higher education institutions in Australia to achieve educational or vocational qualifications in any profession or trade or the arts.

Each Pinnacle scholar is carefully matched with a mentor, who will typically share the same academic and professional interests, gender identity, and sexual orientation.

“The Pinnacle Foundation’s vision is for a more diverse and inclusive society, which closely aligns with our own brand and business beliefs – that everyone is entitled to the same opportunities in life and that we should work together to support the next generation to fulfil that,” said Blundstone’s Joint Chief Executive Officer, Adam Blake.

“We’re proud to support the great work of Pinnacle and look forward to celebrating the successes of their scholarship recipients.”

Andrew Staite, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of The Pinnacle Foundation, and that Blundstone Australia’s three-year commitment to partnering with The Pinnacle Foundation and LGBTQIA+ youth was underpinned by the brand’s commitment to “giving forward” to offer future generations every possible opportunity to succeed.

“We are delighted to welcome Blundstone, a company with such a proud history and sustained commitment to inclusion, into the Pinnacle family,” said Staite.

“Their support will transform the lives of many young LGBTIQ+ Australians, helping them to overcome challenges arising from their identity and realise their full potential.”
